Graphic Design
Graphic design is the art and craft of creating visual content to communicate messages. It is the professional skill of combining text and images, dexterously applying visual hierarchy and page layout techniques in creating advertisements, magazines layouts, and books.
Whilst the term originated in the 1920’s print industry, graphic design is an ancient craft dating back to the earliest cave paintings. It also covers a broad range of artistic expression which includes the creation and designing of corporate identities (logos), corporate branding materials (letterheads, brochures, annual reports, web pages, social platforms and business cards).
Predominantly, there are 8 different types of graphic design, namely: Web Design; Advertising and Marketing Design; Motion Graphics and Animation; Game Design; Publication and Typography Design; Packaging Design; Environmental Design and User Interface (UI) and Interactive Design.
