A fetish is an inanimate object worshiped for its supposed magical powers. It is believed to possess spiritual powers capable of bringing to fruition its owner's plans, desires, predictions and goals. It is sometimes regarded as the abode of a supernatural power or spirit. An example of a fetish is an amulet, or a talisman.
