Collage is a term applied to a type of artwork (and also to the technique used in creating such artwork) in which photographs, fabric, news cuttings, colored and textured paper, and other suitable objects are pasted onto a supporting surface, often in combination with paint. The word “collage” comes from the French word ‘coller,’ which means ‘to gum.’
