Artifact

An artifact is usually simple object (such as a tool or ornament) produced and shaped by human hands or showing human workmanship or modification. As items of cultural or historical interest, artifacts distinguish a particular period in time and can reveal behaviors, customs and traditions of a distinct society, community or people group. Artifacts are usually displayed in museums of art and Ethnography.
