yuko ueda was born in 1976, fukuoka, japan.
the depth and passion that exudes from the work of yuko transcends the metaphysical world and goes beyond the parameters of the five senses. with nature, as her vehicle for inspiration, she records the indescribable beauty of the world around us, a seed buried in the ground, roots searching for nourishment, still waters in an ocean ... birth of a flower, rebirth of a drying leaf... the role of time in nature and its relationship to the human spirit.
she achieves her objectives by using unorthodox materials, which include stones, sand, wire and door hinges. her use of luminous and rich colors is a response to her sensitivity and a hope birthed within her. harmony and balance, two fundamentals embroiled in the ecosystem, are dominant in her work and bring a cathartic aura of to her work.

obtained a bachelor of fine arts, at tama art university majoring in graphic design, from 1995-1999, in tokyo, japan
