An abstract expressionist, PK Williams’ paintings are both bold and subtle. His color choices draw the attention to the painting, where multiple layers of gesture and collage provoke the viewer into dialogue with the composition. "The creation of my work reflects my fascination with evoking emotional response, whether conscious and not. Ultimately, the images and the emotional content of my work are developed through the use of spatial shifts that act as visual puzzles. These apertures also work as doorways to kinetic energy that allows the viewer to peer into my world, as mirror images of my past and present."

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, PK Williams studied printmaking at the Center for Creative Studies. He moved to New York City in 1996 to pursue his painting. PK currently lives and paints in Brooklyn, NY and is an active participant in the Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk. He was featured on Brooklyn’s BCAT television show "Neighborhood Beat." He most recently exhibited at the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation "Images of Color" show and plans to display his newest work at his first New York solo show at s.e.e.dgallery in Dumbo.
