david chinyama was born in harare, zimbabwe, in 1976
relevant, dynamic and vibrant.
these three words can be used to at least begin to describe the work of this immensely gifted artist. david's paintings have a depth sought for, but rarely achieved by artists in this age of irony. his use of space and form is both immediate and intellectual. he seems to possess a deep reservoir of emotions within him, fuelled by events, either political or social, and a definite vision filled with hope, both personal and global. using texture, achieved mainly by layering of paint and etching into the canvas, and a vibrant palette, mostly of reds and ochre's, he carefully, with spontaneity pours his emotions on the canvas.
